Qualcomm Releases Snapdragon 632, 439 and 429 Chipsets for Mid-range Smartphones

How is Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor advanced than Qualcomm 835 Processor

Qualcomm, the company which manufactures the Snapdragon processors found on our smartphones has launched three new processors. The latest processors from Qualcomm are upgrades to the Snapdragon 600 series and the Snapdragon 400 series. Now, the company has announced that Snapdragon 632 will be the latest processor in Snapdragon 600 series. To recall, Qualcomm released the Snapdragon 630 processor last year which is seen in many mid-range smartphones. Apart from that, we know that Snapdragon 400 series processors are used in budget smartphones. For the Snapdragon 400 series, the company has launched Snapdragon 439 and Snapdragon 429 which are upgraded versions of the Snapdragon 430 and Snapdragon 425 respectively.

Now, the company has also given details about the increase in performance of the newly announced Snapdragon 600 and 400 series from last year. Talking about Snapdragon 632, it is said to be 40% faster as compared to the Snapdragon 626. On the other hand, the Snapdragon 439 and Snapdragon 429 are supposedly 25% faster than the Snapdragon 430 and 425 respectively. Also, it is worth noting that Snapdragon processors have some hardware limitations as well. For example, the Snapdragon 632 supports displays of around 1080p resolution. For the cameras, it supports up to 24 megapixels or a dual 13-megapixel setup. Along with that, 4K video capture as well as LTE modem with carrier support for faster speeds.

The Snapdragon 439, on the other hand, supports resolution of up to 1080p. It can go up to a 21-megapixel camera or have an 8-megapixel dual camera setup. However, the Snapdragon 429 is the least powerful from the newly launched processor by Qualcomm. The smartphones which are powered by Snapdragon 429 can have a display up to 720p resolution. On top of that, there can be either a 16-megapixel camera or dual 8-megapixel cameras on the device. Qualcomm has also announced that consumers will start getting latest smartphones with the above-mentioned chipsets by the latter half of 2018. These chipsets are expected to be seen in the budget and mid-range smartphones which are priced in Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000 segment.
