Realme has just launched a new smartphone in the Indian market. The latest smartphone from Realme comes in an all-new series as well. This new series is the Realme U series and the smartphone in focus is the Realme U1. As far as the Realme U1 is concerned, it is yet another mid-range device from the company. The Realme U1 also becomes the first Indian smartphone to have the brand-new Helio P70 SoC from MediaTek.

On the front of Realme U1 is its display along with the dewdrop notch. This is same as the notch seen on the recently-launched OnePlus 6T. This display is a 6.3-inch Full HD+ panel with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels having 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The company claims that the Realme U1 has a 90.8% screen-to-body ratio. This device is the first one to have MediaTek’s latest flagship chipset, the Helio P70. For display protection, it has a 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 also.

The Realme U1 is touted as a SelfiePro smartphone for the Indian market. This is because of the 25MP selfie camera placed on the front inside the dewdrop notch. This selfie camera is equipped with AI features such as scene detection, beauty mode, and studio lighting. There is also a dual camera setup on the back of Realme U1. This dual camera setup has a 13MP primary and a 2MP secondary camera.

Realme U1 comes in two different variants, one with 3GB RAM and another one with 4GB of RAM. These variants have 32GB and 64GB of internal storage respectively. However, there is a microSD card slot on the device too which lets you expand up to 256GB on the device. Coming to the price, the 3GB RAM variant of Realme U1 is priced at Rs. 11,999 and the 4GB RAM costs Rs. 14,499 in India. The device has a 3500 mAh non-removable battery along and runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based on ColorOS 5.2
