Realme is looking to follow the footsteps of OnePlus and Xiaomi in the Indian markets. We have seen that the markets in India are dominated by the Chinese players at the moment. While this is not a bad thing for Indian consumers, it goes to show the stronghold of Chinese OEMs on global markets. Talking about Chinese players, we know that Realme entered Indian markets last year. Ever since then, Realme has launched more than a dozen smartphones in the country. It must also be noted that none of these smartphones has flopped in the market which is a rare feat for anyone.

Talking about smartphone launches, Realme is launching its Realme 5 series in India today. This series will have the Realme 5 as well as Realme 5 Pro. These smartphones are expected to be an upgrade from the Realme 3 series which was released earlier this year. In between, Realme also launched the Realme X which was an upgrade to the Realme 3 Pro.

At the moment, we know few details about the Realme 5 series. First of all, the Realme 5 series will become the first lineup of smartphones to come with a quad-camera setup. This means that the smartphone will have 5 cameras, 4 at the back and 1 at the front. Also, it is revealed that the Realme 5 series will come with a Qualcomm processor. This will be the first time that Realme smartphones will be powered by a Snapdragon processor rather than MediaTek chips.

However, one of the most interesting things that will launch with Realme 5 series is Realme’s own skin of Android. Yes, Realme has already announced that it will not use Oppo’s ColorOS any longer. Instead, Realme’s own UI is launching soon and we expect this announcement to come today itself. Along with that, Realme Buds 2.0 is also launching with Realme 5 series today in India.
