Samsung Bixby

It’s official. The arrival of Samsung Bixby voice assistant is confirmed. Samsung has confirmed the integration of Bixby voice assistant along with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ on the official website of Samsung Italy’s Privacy Policy page.

The company has added information about the upcoming Bixby assistant under the section Voice services. It prompts you to verify your smartphone and work with it using voice commands. With Bixby, you will be able to perform various functions such as music playback, searching the web, locating places and much more.

Samsung has integrated S Translator functionality into Bixby, which enables you to dictate content using voice memo. Moreover, with the help of Auto mode, you will be able to work with the handset during driving or in adverse conditions. As per the rumor mills, the company will also integrate 3D touch support into the Bixby assistant.

To work with Samsung Bixby, you will have to press a dedicated button located on the right side of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. You will also find a relevant icon for activating Bixby on the UI. GMS Arena has revealed a logo of the rumored Bixby feature. It looks similar to that of the alphabet B with cuttings on left and right-hand side.

In addition to the default voice system, the company will also provide support for working with third-party services to convey voice commands into text. Hence, you will be able to take advantage of the features provided by the voice engines apart from Samsung. The policy also states that your voice and content will be transmitted to their services for quality improvement purposes and can be changed from the Settings menu.

According to reports, the Bixby assistant will be capable of controlling home appliances and several third-party apps. It is possible to search for a particular object in images and videos including the ability to process payments via voice. Industry analysts are of the opinion that Bixby will offer advanced features not found in Apple Siri, Amazon Alexa, and Microsoft Cortana.

Samsung will infuse Bixby not only as a standalone voice assistant but also will integrate with several third-party apps expected to ship with the Galaxy S8. For example, you can open Gmail using voice. Samsung will unveil Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ at the Unpacked event on March 29 in New York followed by the official launch on April 21.
