We just heard scuttlebutt we know you definitely gonna get excited about. Are aliens coming to New Delhi? Is the moon turned into cheese balls? Oh no, nothing like that I am afraid. It’s just that Samsung has been busy updating its range of A5 mid-ranged but still somewhat premier handsets.

And its efforts have borne fruit and been leaked. Sorry Samsung. We now present to you the Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 model. And oh we will forgive you Samsung for your exploding grenades if this sleek device performs as allegedly speced and hopefully priced. The smartphone sports a “tiny” 5.2 inch IPS LCD display with the unremarkable resolution of 1920 x 1800 pixels. Overall dimensions are 145 x 71 x 7.8 mm.

It will interestingly come with a side-mounted speaker, just like some other recent smartphones on offer. A USB type-C port on the ass end as well as a headphone jack conveniently located next to it complete the cast. Thank you Samsung, least I can’t do without my wired headphones. Neither I trust you can.

The device looks like its going to be an outwardly smaller copy of its bigger, better and meaner brother- the Galaxy S7- as it sports a durable glass-metal finish just like it. Additionally, it  will feature both single and dual sim variants so popular in developing markets/economies.

Under the hood, it will be running Android 6 Marshmallow coupled with an Exynos 7800 SOC that sprints at 1.7GHZ and utilizes 3 to 4GB of RAM, with a 3,000MAH battery providing the juice. Internal storage is 16GB to 32GB, with of course external SD card support of up to 128GB. During tests, the SOC reportedly scored 817 on the single core and 4692 for the multi-core performance, so we definitely know its no slouch. Cameras are reported to be a 13MP shooter at the back and an 8 MP front unit for selfies.

Launch period? Probably soonest to take advantage of the Xmas season. Nothing like the thought and the feelings of the Yuletide to make people open their wallets eh. Price? Hopefully cheap. If its otherwise we can always use carrier-pigeons to communicate.
