The First Samsung Galaxy S8 Drop Test Sends Out Bad Signals

Samsung Galaxy S8

Samsung Galaxy S8 was released on March 29 with the expected availability on April 21. Apple also released a Red color variant of iPhone 7 with the same features and specifications as the original iPhone 7 launched in September 2016. According to TechRax YouTube channel, the Samsung Galaxy S8 display got damaged when dropped from a 5-feet. However, the iPhone 7 display was severely damaged when dropped to the ground facing the panel.

Both Galaxy S8 and iPhone 7 are designed using glass panels on the rear and front. Moreover, the dual-edge bezel-less design occupies a major chunk of the front side. The main purpose of the drop test conducted by TechRax is to measure the durability of both handsets.

The video begins by showcasing both Samsung Galaxy S8 and iPhone 7 and introducing the features. After that, a Red color variant of iPhone 7 was dropped from a 5-feet height. After dropping the iPhone, the user lifts it and shows to the camera revealing no potential damages caused by the display of the iPhone. However, the red color at the bottom left corner was slightly damaged.

When the Samsung Galaxy S8 was dropped from the same 5-feet height, there was no visible scratch on the rear and front side even though the top corner hit the floor very hard. We can spot a slight discoloration on the corner of the handset on the portion that touched the ground

When the Red iPhone 7 was dropped from the 5-feet with the display panel facing the ground, the screen got severely damaged. More rover, the phone stopped working after the drop test.

Samsung Galaxy S8 also faced similar damage when dropped with the display panel facing towards the front. However, the touchscreen of the phone was working even after the drop test.

With Samsung Galaxy S8 facing minor damages to the display and the edges, you should make use of the protective cover while working with it. There are protective covers available on the market t protect the premium smartphone. With a huge investment, you need to take proper care while using Galaxy S8.
