Samsung Points To The Notch With Three Different Infinity Display screens

Samsung is part of the “resistance notch” because so far has never incorporated any eyebrows in any of its terminals. However, they have been working on different infinite screen technology, several of which have a notch.

These screens have been presented – or rather mentioned above – during the Samsung developer conference where we could see the Samsung folding screen. There are altogether four types of screens that address the goal of reducing edges in different ways.

War To The Edges

The presentation was made by Hassan Anjum, director of marketing at Samsung, who after reviewing the latest innovations of the company in terms of screens, left us a small appetizer of what was to come. Four new types of infinity screens.

Infinity-U – It is a notch of reduced size and centered, similar to that included in the Oppo, Oneplus and other phones with a notch in the form of a water-drop that has recently appeared.
Infinity-V – Very similar to the previous one, but instead of having a rounded edge, it is V-shaped. It does not seem to make much sense to call the screen differently just for this little detail, but in the absence of more information, it could be that there are more differences.
Infinity-O – There is not here a notch per se, but a hole in the screen on which the camera would fit. It’s a technology that several manufacturers are flirting with and we’ve seen in action in a supposed Zenfone 6.
New Infinity – It is the most enigmatic of all. There is basically no notch anywhere and it seems to be a screen that goes from edge to edge. This could mean lack of a Nubian X camera, retractable camera to the Vivo Nex, sliding body to the Mi Mix 3 or some new technology to incorporate the camera under the screen, the next holy grail of the mobiles.

Samsung is one of the main providers of screens for other brands, so we do not know if the notch will be used in our own designs. In the past, the company was very critical with the notch of the iPhone X, so it is not clear if it will end up dodging the eyebrow as before or will end up succumbing to fashion.
