Samsung has officially unveiled its latest foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold5, during the much-anticipated unpacked event in South Korea. This next-generation device comes with a remarkable 7.6-inch Infinity Flex Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, now 30% brighter with up to 1750 nits and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
The phone also boasts a 6.2-inch HD+ Dynamic AMOLED display with the same impressive refresh rate. Notably, the Z Fold5 has upgraded to the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for the new Galaxy. Additionally, it retains its high-quality camera setup with a 50MP sensor, 12MP ultra-wide camera, and 10MP telephoto with 3X optical zoom and 30X space zoom. The improved Multi Window and App Continuity offer seamless multitasking, and the S Pen Fold Edition enhances the writing experience, making real-time annotating and ideation a breeze.
The Galaxy Z Fold5 sets a new benchmark in sustainability with its increased use of recycled materials. Samsung has incorporated pre-consumer recycled glass and aluminum, as well as post-consumer recycled plastics sourced from discarded fishing nets, water barrels, and PET bottles. Even the packaging box is eco-friendly, made from 100 percent recycled material.
Despite its environmentally-friendly approach, the Z Fold5 doesn’t compromise on durability. It retains the Armor Aluminum frame and hinge cover, along with IPX8 water resistance ratings. The Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection ensures added safety for the Cover Screen and rear glass.
To enhance the overall structural integrity, the main screen features a shock dispersion layer and a redesigned back. The Flex Hinge has been improved with an integrated hinge module, incorporating a dual rail structure to absorb external impacts. This innovative design results in a seamless fold, making the phone impressively sleek at just 6.1mm when open.
The much-awaited Galaxy Z Fold5 is priced competitively, offering three storage variants to cater to different user needs. The 256GB variant is priced at USD 1799.99 (approximately Rs. 1,47,650), the 512GB variant at USD 1919.99 (approximately Rs. 1,57,495), and the 1TB variant at USD 2159.99 (approximately Rs. 1,77,180).
