Sony accidentally uploads a full movie instead of its trailer on YouTube

Sony Pictures Entertainment is the arm of Sony which produces films and other entertainment-related content. Now, this is the channel which is also responsible for posting trailers and teasers. Therefore, Sony decided to release a trailer of one of their upcoming movies on YouTube.

However, this practice went horribly wrong for Sony as the company posted an entire movie instead of just the trailer. Also, this movie is named Khali the Killer which is a limited-release film.  Therefore, the company had decided to post the trailer as a way to gather viewership for its film.

However, the company posted the full length of its film named Khali the Killer on YouTube. Also, the realization that an entire film was uploaded to YouTube instead of just the trailer came after an interval of more than 2 hours. Later, the company, as expected, removed the film from the site due to obvious copyright and piracy issues.

Now, it is known that the movie which has a length of approximately 1 and a half hour was removed in just 2 hours. However, this time was enough for the eagle-eyed users on Reddit.

One of the Reddit users created a thread about the mistake from Sony of uploading the entire film named Khali the Killer. As expected, this thread has become one of the most upvoted Reddit threads. Some also suspect that this could be a possible marketing tactic from Sony to garner buzz for their upcoming film that might not gain attraction otherwise. However, this could cost dearly for Sony as there might be thousands of pirated copies already circulating on the internet in this 2-hour lapse from the company.

Talking about Khali the Killer, this film is a violent crime drama which, judging by its trailer, has been influenced by western series’. Also, it should be noted that the movie was already released in 2017 in the DVD form. However, the digital release of the film is scheduled to take place now, a year later.
