We earlier reported that Google is planning to launch a new mid-range Pixel smartphone. This smartphone is expected to be targeted towards users in India and other emerging markets. However, we were not sure when or what this smartphone will be like. Now, we have the specifications of this upcoming smartphone along with the names. Apparently, Google’s mid-range Pixel smartphones will be called the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. The earlier reports suggested that the devices would be named as Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 XL Lite but that does not seem to be the case.
On the other hand, these devices from Google are expected to have upper mid-range specifications. Also, the smartphones will have similar design to Pixel 3 series. However, it is known that Pixel 3a series will have polycarbonate construction rather than glass-metal build. Now that the specifications are also available, we can get a clear idea about the upcoming Pixel 3a smartphones from Google. It is not clear at the moment when the smartphones will be released but they are expected soon.
As far as Pixel 3a is concerned, it will have a 5.6-inch screen whereas the Pixel 3a XL will have a 6-inch display. Apart from that, Pixel 3a series is expected to come in Just Black and Clearly White color options. Also, reports indicate to a third colour variant which is not known yet.
Also, Pixel 3a series will have the Pixel Edge feature seen on Google Pixel 3 series. This means you can squeeze to activate assistant on Pixel 3a as well. Reportedly, Pixel 3a series will also have 64 GB of inbuilt storage, eSIM support and Titan M security chip. Pixel 3a is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 670 whereas the Pixel 3a XL will run on Snapdragon 710 chipset. Pixel 3a series will have a 3000 mAh battery capacity and single cameras on front and back.
