It is known that COVID-19 has shut down everything around the world and it means that the companies are also closing but we now have a new update from Telegram who has just released an update for its desktop app. This desktop app update is available for all Telegram users on Linux, Windows and macOS and it has some features along with the security updates and enhancements that have become standard.

First of all, it is known that the new update to Telegram desktop brings a new sidebar which you can see right on the home screen. This new sidebar will give you easy access to all parts of the app such as Chats, Channels and edit. This is also an extension of the Telegram 6.0 update that was released for smartphones recently.

Also, this update adds the ability for you to organize your chats inside chat folders which means you can categorize chats inside folders and name them as you wish. This comes in handy when you have too many chats of a particular type and you want to categorize them all instead of messing up everything.

You can not only assign a custom name to the chat folders but a custom icon can also be assigned s0 that it becomes easier for you to recognize them. Chat folders can include any chats you like (even specific types of chat, like groups or channels). While the telegram chat folder feature is available, it won’t be enabled by default inside the app and you will have to type a separate URL inside your browser once you have the new Telegram desktop installed. Here is the URL: tg://settings/folders. This URL will trigger a prompt inside your Telegram app to enable the feature. You also now have animated emojis inside the desktop app.
