W2019: Upcoming Samsung Flip Phone Costs More Than $1400

When you think of Samsung’s high-end devices, the S and Note ranges come directly to the forefront. However, the Korean manufacturer continues to offer clamshell smartphones in the Asian market, at the lowest rates. The latest is none other than the Samsung W2019, officially unveiled this Friday.

Like the W2018 or W2017 before him, so it’s a flip-top smartphone with two 4.2-inch S-Amoled screens, one outside to view content even when the camera is closed, and an inside. Both displays also offer a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

A Samsung Phone Without A Headphone Jack

On the side of the internal components, we find everything we can expect from a high-end smartphone in 2018 with a Snapdragon 845, 6 GB of RAM, 128 or 256 GB of storage expandable via a microSD port and a 3070 battery mAh must offer 85 hours of use and 280 hours of the call. Of course, the Samsung 2019 is equipped with Android, this time in 8.1 Oreo version with the Samsung Experience ROM and Bixby assistant.

A button dedicated to the virtual assistant of Samsung is even integrated into the cover. The smartphone also incorporates a virtually complete connectivity with USB-C, 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac and NFC. We will emphasize the absence of headphone jack, a first at Samsung.

For the photo, Samsung has taken the same principle as its Galaxy S9, S9 + and Note 9, with a 12-megapixel camera with an adjustable aperture between f / 1.5 and f / 2.4. The second camera, still with a 12-megapixel sensor, allows for it to offer a 2x optical zoom with an aperture at f / 2.4.

Like its predecessors, the Samsung W2019 is only planned for an Asian release. It has already been announced for the Chinese market where the device will be available at 10,000 yuan. A price that corresponds to more than $1400, more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
