Xiaomi has been achieving new heights in the industry every day. We know that the brand has made a huge fortune in countries like India and some parts of Europe. One of the reasons behind this is its pricing strategy. Also, Xiaomi has publicly announced that it only keeps a profit margin of 5%. This is also the reason why Xiaomi sells its smartphones mostly online. But apart from that, we have also seen Xiaomi as a innovator in the industry too.
Earlier this year, Xiaomi CEO showed the world its first folding phone prototype. Although we have not heard about Xiaomi’s folding phone after that, we are still sure that the company will release it this year. Now, Xiaomi has showed a new innovation and this is related to fast charging. We know that OnePlus started the trend of fast charging on smartphones with Dash Charge. Until last year, Dash Charge was the king of all fast charging technologies.
However, Huawei beat OnePlus in its own game with its fast charging technology at 40W. This is similar to OnePlus’ Warp Charge which is expected to be included in the OnePlus 7. Xiaomi, on the other hand, has gone all out for its fast charging. The company has demoed its fast charging technology which charges at 100W. Obviously, this is almost thrice the Dash Charge capabilities of OnePlus. Also, it is double than Huawei’s Super Charge as well.
As expected, this 100W demo of Xiaomi’s fast charging is extremely fast. Xiaomi’s protoype phone charged from 0 to 100% or full charge in just 17 minutes. OnePlus’ Dash Charge charges its devices from 0 to 65% in 30 minutes. OnePlus’ upcoming Warp Charge is expected to have 50W fast charging which is still half of Xiaomi;s demo fast charging technology. But it still remains to be seen how quickly Xiaomi can bring this fast charging technology to its devices.
