Xiaomi Mi 6 Display Panel Leak Confirms Ultra-Narrow Bezels

Xiaomi Mi 6

Just days ahead of the release of the rumored Xiaomi Mi 6, the front-facing glass display panel has been leaked. Upon inspection of the leaked images by a Weibo user with the handle @kksneakleaks, we can infer that the panel features ultra-narrow bezels.

We can see two identical images with the same design in Black and White color variants. We can see 6 on the display. However, the remaining content is written in the Chinese language with the name of the Weibo user watermarked on the middle. We can assume that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6 will ship in both black and white color variants.

As you can see from the leaked image, the Xiaomi Mi 6 will not make use of a full-screen area. Instead, the phone makes use of an ultra-narrow frame. If you carefully verify the top portion, you can see the sensors. However, there is an addition hole on the front top, which we hope to be that of the Iris scanner similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy S8. You can also expect a LED flash on the top of the display.

When it comes to the physical home button, the surface area of the oval-shaped button has dramatically increased. That said, Xiaomi will most likely embed an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Moreover, the button could be touch based without any need to press on it to perform activities.

There are reports that the Xiaomi is gearing up to increase the production of Mi 6 to avoid stock related problems like in Mi Mix. There are reports that Xiaomi will ditch the traditional headphone port and will integrate water-resistant body. Regarding the price, you can expect Mi 6 to be available starting CNY 1999.

According to industry analysts, the leakage of the Mi 6 display prototype is of high significance especially with the fact that the smartphone will be unveiled on April 11. Recently, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun took to a live stream handle and disclosed the arrival of Mi 6 by the first week of April. With the imminent launch of the phone, we can expect more leaks on the tech circle.
