You must have noticed that 5G is all the hype right now and the companies making their premium as well as mid-range smartphones are trying to sell their phones on the basis of having 5G support inside them.

But the fact is that most of the world does not have any proper 5G network yet meaning that the support is great but redundant. Also, if you are thinking that this will make your phone future-proof then that is true but also think about the point that you are going to change the phone in next 2-3 years at max when your current phone will get outdated.

It is also possible that 5G networks and support inside phones will improve and by the time you can use 5G network on your supported phone, the technology might have improved a lot.

So it is better that if you don’t have 5G networks, don’t buy 5G phones just yet. However, Xiaomi is not going to give you that option from next year. Yes that’s true because the company has just announced that they will stop making 4G phones from next year.

Do note that this statement from Xiaomi is for its home country China only and we know that China was among the first countries to have 5G networks. So it seems to be a logical move as well.

However, the even more interesting part here is that Xiaomi is also claiming to be working on 6G networks. So while the world is not even having 5G networks, Xiaomi China is working on the upgrade to 5G which will be 6G.

As always, 6G will have better internet speeds over 5G and it will have better communication as well. The company said it is also working on satellite internet technology and is already doing research on the same.
