Yahoo releases a new search engine powered by Bing which focuses on privacy

As you might have already noticed, there are people out there who think that Google is not the best search engine because of the way it tracks people and shows them ads. People find that this is an intrusion of privacy and that they would use any other search engine which is not as good as Google in order to protect their privacy.

Well, for those users we have a search engine named DuckDuckGo which is getting quite popular as well. However, privacy is something that other companies are also aware of and that is the reason why they are becoming privacy-focused.

In the latest news regarding privacy, Yahoo has launched an all-new search engine which is different from its own search engine. This new search engine from Yahoo is also powered by Microsoft’s Bing and is totally focused on the privacy of its users.

Basically, we can say that this is Yahoo and Microsoft’s answer to DuckDuckGo. As far as this new search engine is concerned, it is named as OneSearch and is already available on the desktop, Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

Since this search engine is powered by Bing, we are quite sure that it will be good but not as great as Google. However, we do know that we should keep an eye on this search engine since it can become a serious competitor to DuckDuckGo and even Google down the line. The main talking points about OneSearch are that it does not track cookies, retarget you or even perform personal profiling which is what Google does.

Also, the search data is not shared with advertisers at all and user search history is also not stored. The search engine is also encrypted meaning that your data is safe even if it gets stolen. And Yahoo also mentions that the search results are unbiased and unfiltered which is also an accusation against Google.
