You must have seen that robotics has grown a lot in the last few years. There were fears that robots would take away the human jobs which is why they were not developed. However, it has come to the notice of everyone that a robot can do limited tasks whereas a human supervisor is always needed.

Talking about robots, we know that they are far from human-like in appearance. But there has been a lot of talk about how we can give a robot the look of a human. For this reason, one company is offering you $130,000 or £100,000 if you are willing to put your face on a robot.

Now, let’s understand what we mean by putting your face on a robot. If you are putting your face on a robot, it might mean that you will be later identified as a robot. Also, it means that you will see your face wherever that robot is in use.

If this doesn’t bother you and if you have a ‘kind and friendly’ face then gives this competition a shot. The company which is organizing this competition says that they need a ‘kind and friendly’ face which will be selected as a winner.

The face which is selected, as we mentioned earlier, will be placed on thousands of humanoids around the world. The money being offered to the winner is their right to the face and it can also be called royalty money.

This competition has been organized by Geomiq which will develop the humanoid. However, this will be done for a privately-funded robotics company whose name is not revealed. Geomiq says that they are under a non-disclosure agreement or NDA which means that they can’t reveal details about the company.

Geomiq promises that the winner will be given complete details of the project after selection.
