Personally, I attracted towards KnownHost is for their free migration support, I don’t have free time for the migration process. Thetechhacker usually sizes more than 2GB at the time of migration and MySql database weighs nearly 80MB.

After taking a VPS-1 plan, I contacted the technical department for the migration process. KnownHost offers email and ticket based customer support.The technical team people are very customer friendly and asked my Godaddy credentials to proceed. But unfortunately, Godaddy Shared Hosting don’t have CPanel support, KH support team can transfer data from cPanel to cPanel dump. I requested the technical team but they promptly unable to process my request.

Migration and Experience

Migration takes less than 3 hours time and nameservers usually takes minimum 24hrs to 48hrs time to change throughout worldwide. After the migration, I faced issues while uploading images and plugin installation in WordPress dashboard. Again I contact the help team and they solved the issue within 10 minutes.

But, unfortunately, we disappointed with RAM power. For business users, they need more power or expect higher traffic. In VPS-1 RAM is 768MB, whenever I publish new post server hangs and show “Error Establishing Database Connection”. From my side, I opened the cPanel in error time, here in cPanel also shown the same error and I am unable to take any step. Luckily KnownHost has very good 24×7 customer support and solved the issue within 5 minutes.They restarted the cPanel from their side and the problem is rectified.

In a reply mail by KnownHost customer support executive, he suggested upgrading my plan to VPS-2. The reason behind is MySQL failure due to lack of memory. In their email, I found MySQL may use up to 1.9GB of memory, VPS-1 plan is not so much customer friendly for heavy WordPress users. To overcome the error we moved to VPS-2 plan which supports 2GB RAM which can easily handle WordPress heavy usage. Overall my experience with KnownHost is good and satisfied with their service.

Customer Support

As mentioned earlier, KnownHost customer support is satisfactory. The wait time was just two to three minutes, and the representative was very helpful. You can set a different priority level for the support ticket, depending on your site situation you can set critical, high, medium level. For the site down issues, the critical level will get an instant response from the technical team. And also daily you’ll get emails from your host’s cPanel Cron daemon, it is an automated system and shows every maintenance activity done by the host.
