Today I’m reviewing UMI Hammer S in detail. In my opinion, the ideal smartphone looks like this, it has almost all features including IR Blaster to make your smartphone as a Universal Remote.

UMI Hammer S Review: Build Quality & Design

Design wise, the UMI Hammer S is one of the better-looking budget smartphones out there. It has beautiful build quality, it is crafted with aircraft-grade aluminum which provides the lightest weight and ultimate durability.

On the front side, it has a 5.5-inch display, set of sensors on the top, a beautiful display, and touch buttons. On the back side, it has 13MP Camera, Dual LED Flash, and Fingerprint scanner to provide extra security to your device. The rear panel has also a curved design towards the edges giving the device a good grip.

The power and volume keys are on the right side and USB Type-C can be found at the bottom of the device along with the speaker. Overall, we can easily saw that UMI Hammer S is one of the better-looking devices in the budget category.

UMI Hammer S Review: Features and Performance

The UMI Hammer is a mid-range Android phablet which features a 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. The device has 13-MP camera is on the rear side, and a 2-megapixel snapper can be found up front. We tested the UMI Hammer S in Antutu, we got a good score in performance.

The device has a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display, which is one of the better displays available in this price point. The brightness levels are also good on the display and we don’t have too much to complain in this aspect. The device also comes with IR Blaster, you can control any household device by using Hammer S as a remote. The UMI also provided a fingerprint scanner at the back of the device, the scanner is pretty fast and accurate.

The device runs on MTK6735, Cortex A53 quad core, 1.0GHz chipset, which is an average performer. But the overall performance of the device was good and we didn’t experience any lags or issues which running apps or playing games and multitasking. The camera performance was pretty good for this price  point, the color and brightness levels are good in images taken with the device. To run all these features, the device is packed with a 3200mAh battery, which promises to give 2-3 days of standby time.

Considering price and features, the UMI Hammer S is a fantastic device. Under $140, you will get an Android smartphone with a fingerprint scanner, IR Blaster with Universal Remote capability, decent Camera and faster performance.
