Selfies represent the way in which you express yourself. With the default camera app included with smartphones, you will be able to capture ordinary selfies without any major features. The app provides several integrated effects using which you can change the appearance of your face. We recently reviewed the PIP Camera app inside our labs and found it encouraging to use. In this article, we will examine the features, usage including pros and cons of the app.
Features
PIP Camera enables you to capture images inside a photo frame. It includes bottle, mirror, tablet, smartphone, laptop, and others. The app provides support for the new PIP Frames and PIP magazine Collage modes. The PIP Camera app includes artistic filters in several styles such as cartoon, comic including the newly introduced magazine styles. You can also create photo collages with crystal bottle pattern, frame series, and cartoon styles.
It is also possible to create a grid based collage by customizing the background of the frame. In addition to all the above features, the PIP Camera also ships with a powerful photo retouching app. You will be able to access mysterious filters, fun sticker sets, text adding, mosaic including the ability to edit photos and pictures. The app includes 200+ collage frames with more than 2- photo filters for your immediate consumption.
Working
Firstly, you have to install the app by tapping Play Store icon and searching for PIP Camera. You have to select the app captioned “Photo Editor Pro-PIP Camera” developed by Fotoable Inc. The app takes few minutes to install over Wi-Fi connectivity. If you have 4G connectivity, you can install quickly. After installation, select Open from the Play Store. You can also tap on the PIP Camera option to launch the app.
If you select PIP Camera option, you will view a screen with several options.
To capture a selfie, you need to focus your face in a lighted environment. You will view several effects on the bottom. If you scroll horizontally, you will view plenty of effects.
Moreover, if you select the arrow pointing downwards, you will view a library with nearly 50 premium effects. If you select any one of them, you will be able to shoot selfies using that effect.
You should note that some effects are available for free, while few are paid. You can try the free effects until you are convinced of the functionality of the app.
If you install Magazine option, you will view plenty of effects branded with magazines. If you select any one of the effects, you can capture photos with magazine on the front. There are several possibilities. It’s up to you to tap the great potential of the app.
You can also create a beautiful collage with up to 10 photos by fetching the images from within your smartphone. After tapping the Collage option, you have to select a folder from whether you have stored the images.
After selecting the images, select Next, and you will view a preview of the real collage. You can edit the collage by adding the relevant effects and backgrounds.
Select the Save option located on the top right-hand side, and your collage will be stored on your device.
You can then share it on your social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and others. The only problem is the app will not display the captured photo or collage after saving. You have to locate them manually by navigating to the Gallery section on your smartphone. You can’t share the images from within the app. We would suggest the developer add an integrated sharing option in the next release.

Verdict
If you would like to create selfies with effects and collages, you should make use of PIP Camera since you will be able to create them without any difficulty easily. With minimum learning curve, it doesn’t get better to create selfies with artistic styles and options. The app will be suitable for capturing selfies during vacation, outing and spending time with kids.
