1. Grand Theft Auto 5

Although GTA 5 is an open-world game, its primary focus is action. Singleplayer campaign is full of memorable moments and thrilling story and action, so in our opinion, GTA 5 is one of the best action games of all time. In singleplayer, there are 3 characters you can play with, and in multiplayer things are even more interesting, with far more possibilities. If you liked the previous installments in the GTA series, we’re sure you’ll like this one. This is AAA title, so expect to pay a little more for this game.

2. Dishonored 2

Dishonored 2 took the formula from the previous Dishonored game and expanded it into much more. This title brought some of the best console and PC graphics of today, with action and stealth elements. There are two playable characters from the previous game, Corvo Attano and Emily Kaldwin, and the player can choose one at the beginning of the game, depending on the play style. If you like an interesting story and challenging gameplay, be sure not to miss this one.

3. Titanfall 2

Titanfall 2 is one of the best-optimized games on this list. It runs flawlessly on any configuration, making it very accessible for the gamers. This game is the first-person shooter in which you can play as a human character and summon a Titan, a large exoskeleton used for fighting. Unlike Titanfall, Titanfall 2 now features a great singleplayer campaign with a compelling story. Overall, a great Titanfall experience, even for those who aren’t familiar with this game.

4. Dark Souls 3

If we say that this game is challenging, we probably wouldn’t be right, because it’s far more than challenging. Dark Souls 3 made its grand return previous year, with many improvements in graphics, gameplay and, well… difficulty. This game boasts a great fighting mechanics with a lot of RPG elements, and even new and challenging boss fights. Bosses are ruthless and unforgiving as every mistake you make will make you lose almost whole health bar. If you’re up for a challenge, grab this game, and you’ll see what ‘difficult’ really means.

5. Gears of War 4

Gears of War is one of the best action series, developed by Microsoft Studios. Gears of War 4 surely continued its tradition last year, with a great and compelling story and top-notch graphics. Fortunately, Gears of War 4 has a multiplayer which is a great addition, that can increase the game’s lifetime.

6. Alien: Isolation

Alien: Isolation is one of the most brutal, unforgiving and relentless horror games of today. In this game, you are put into the role of Amanda Ripley, who is investigating a disappearance of her mother on the Sevastopol space station. The story seems simple, but when Alien appears, it becomes far more complicated. This creature is all but stupid. It moves unpredictably and can find you wherever you hide. There are also Androids, which the player can fight against using weapons like the flamethrower, pistol, baton, etc.

7. Overwatch

Overwatch is an MMO first-person shooting game coming from Blizzard Entertainment. This company is famous for their great MMO games, and Overwatch isn’t an exception. There are over 20 characters to choose from, and every single character is different in terms of fighting style, speed, health and much more. These characters are very well varied, so there’s a little bit for everyone, whether you prefer close combat or sniping enemies from a distance. Overwatch is a fast-paced game, so you’ll need some quick reflexes to master this game.

8. Rise of the Tomb Raider

The Rise of the Tomb Raider is a commonly used game for benchmarks, but don’t worry, this game is much, much more. It’s a kind of open-world game where the players can explore the world aside from completing the main quests. In this game, Lara Croft is in search of the legendary city Kitezh, where the immortality is granted. However, she fights against the paramilitary organization that is trying to stop her in doing that. The main focus of this game is on surviving and fighting against enemies. Lara can carry a total of 4 weapons, including bow and arrow, used for fighting enemies and traversing the world. It’s great for those who didn’t play previous games in the series, so feel free to try it.

9. Far Cry 3

Although Far Cry 3 isn’t the newest title in the series, in our opinion, it’s the best game in that series. Far Cry 3 continued where the previous title left off, with the huge open world to explore, ranging from islands and jungles to various tombs and palaces. It perfectly combines the FPS genre with elements of RPG like crafting, leveling, upgrading weapons and characters and more. Singleplayer is the strongest element in the game, with the interesting antagonist Vaas, and a great story. You can find this game for a very cheap price now, so take advantage of that.

10. Superhot

Superhot is the most original FPS game ever! It introduces a new style of gameplay, with a focus on time manipulation. The time flows when the player makes a move, so if the player doesn’t move, neither will enemies and everything around him. Although its graphics are in a minimalist art style, the gameplay is satisfying, plus there is an interesting story with a plot twist at the end. A great game for a low price.
