Oppo A7X Review

Oppo A7X Review

Oppo has been doing quite great with its lineup in the recent days, today we are having another Oppo device, which comes with the latest in trend design language, both on the front and at the back. They are having a ton of devices available in almost all the different price bracket today we are going to review one of their top of the line device and see if Oppo is just flaunting about the design factor only and if there is any real performance packed in or not.

Design

This time too Oppo has nailed the design language of the phone. At the back, there is a 3D design on the back which is not a glass one this time too and comes with a unibody metal design. The inclusion of unibody metal design helps us to have a firmer device which is less prone to cracking and shattering from the back when dropped. The device on the back happens to have two different colors in combination. On the front, there is a slight chin but mostly that’s because of the type of Display used on the device.

Talking about the placements we have the notch on the top of the device on the front, this houses the front camera of the device. Talking about the notch it happens to be a droplet-shaped one and hence this makes it look quite good when looked while watching movies or while doing any other work.

On the back of the device, we have a dual camera which is positioned towards the top left side, we do have a dual tone flash on the phone which is positioned towards the right of the camera unit. The fingerprint scanner is present on the phone positioned lightly upwards from the exact center point of the phone at the back, below which we do have the branding of the company.

Build quality wise we have the best in class materials used and this also speaks via the weight of the phone. It is quite heavy and hence all these translate in making the phones build quality well. In hand feel of the phone is the best and in the segment, no other device can win in the feel of the device, it is basically due to the design of the phone.

Display

Coming to the majority of the phone which is the case with most of the device since 2017, we have a 6.3-inch display which is an FHD+ panel which comes with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The aspect ratio of the device makes it really tall and makes it announce in bold that you won’t have any issues holding the device in hand.

We do have a slight chin at the bottom of the display which we did discuss before also, and that is majorly due to the LTPS IPS LCD Display and yes, this display needs some space either at the bottom or at the top to accommodate the controllers.

The screen of the phone comes with a large set of colors which appears to be vivid and glossy. The colors are really great in view and that makes the screen of the device look the best component of the phone. The screen of this phone is equally great as the rest of the design language of the phone. You can easily view the display of the device at night as it can go really dark, and during the day also it is no issues as the screen is bright enough to assist you in the daylight.

Performance

Oppo has included the phone with MediaTek’s MT6771 Helio P60 processor which is the top of the line performance chipset from them. The chipset is accompanied by Mali – G72 GPU which makes it way to the top of the line performance graphics, and help you game most of the games without much of a hiccup. Assisting the same is 4GB of Ram and 128 GB of graphics which gives plenty of space for you to keep your materials.

Talking about the real world performance of the phone it gets the best in class performance where you are not going to have an issue with the daily apps which are going to be snappy enough to make you feel they are really fast enough. Another thing to note is about the gaming experience which you get from the phone, all the games are snappy and even the 4GB of RAM can help you make it through each and every rendering of graphics.

Camera

Oppo A7X comes with a dual rear sensor on the back of the phone which happens to be with a 16MP sensor from Sony with an aperture value of f/1.8, while the secondary sensor, especially for depth sensing, is with a 2MP sensor which is with f/2.4 aperture value. All this makes the rear camera unit of the Oppo A7X the best one when it comes to taking pictures. Talking about the front camera unit we have a 16MP front sensor which comes with f/2.0 aperture value.

In real-world situations, the camera unit performs well both on the front and on the back. When it comes to the pictures during the daytime we have plenty of details in the images and they are less grainy that is due to the dual sensor present, and even the dual-tone flash. The images do have grains when it is total dark still if you come up with a really stable hand then you can have fun in the pro mode, capturing the best of images.

The front sensor also captures some great images and is quite well calibrated to take the best in class selfies and groupies, there are a lot many filters and different kind of features included with the device that does makes the images captured with the front camera of the device look quite good in real-world situations. There are times when the images will be shaky but at the end, you can try with two or three more shots to get the best in class image result.

Battery

The device is equipped with a 3500 mAh battery, and this does show up in the real world conditions. The phone struggles to keep up with other devices with a larger battery in this segment. A7X does struggle when the phone is used extremely hard and there are constant social media messages on the phone, it can barely last above 8 hours of usage which also have the count of standby included in it. Oppo A7X is great for those who are looking for a phone which can last for over 18 hours just with calling, and minimal social media usage.

Verdict

Oppo A7X happens to be a great device especially for the people who are looking to flaunt in front of their friends. The device is quite great and does each and every work with real ease thanks to the powerful processor in the device. Even the camera capability of the device is good just as is the case with other Oppo devices. What do you think about the phone? Do let us know about the same in the comment section below.
