Samsung has been launching many different devices and that is all due to innovation that is being carried out by the brand. It is true that the company always tries the features on the top of the line devices and at a later stage gets them into the flagship models, if and only if the features were successful and didn’t have any bugs.

Coming to today’s star of the show, the all-new Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) which was launched recently by the company. This is the first phone in the market to come with 4 different camera unit at the rear of the device, hence this is the most unique thing in the mobile phone, it will be interesting to see how Samsung has placed these 4 different sized camera unit on to the device. Let’s have a look at the device in the review ahead.

Design & Build

Samsung has got the best design for an A – series device. This particular phone comes with a unibody metal design at the back which is quite unique for this device, then we have a vertical rear camera unit which comprises 4 different cameras and a flash unit.

There is even a fingerprint scanner which is positioned in the most common place on any device. Samsung branding is below the fingerprint scanner. Talking of the front, it is the same design language you must have seen on the Note – series or the S – series in the recent days, bezels both on the top and on the bottom.

The whole device is made up of glass at the front and a unibody aluminum finish all over the phone. This makes sure that the phone you are holding in hand is one of the best in the industry, and you have got some really premium phone in your hand. Samsung’s A – series have always been the best and full of premium feel when it comes to holding the phone in hand.

Display

Samsung is the best manufacturer in the industry to get the best in class display on to the mobile phone, and hence it is not any other case in Samsung’s A – series. The all new Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) comes with the same top of the line Super AMOLED display which is sized at 6.3 – inches.

This particular unit is an FHD+ unit and hence comes with a resolution of 1080 x 2220 pixels. The device is available at an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 and hence all this multiplies to a pixel density of 392 pixels. Due to the top and bottom bezels which are quite big, it is also evident that we have a screen to body ratio of 80.5%.

When you have a look at to the display of the phone, you can mesmerize the top of the line quality of an AMOLED display from Samsung which is able to have the same feel of a Samsung display. Samsung has been inserting the DNA of their devices with the right amount of contrast and saturation on to the phone so that they can be distinguished in the wild.

Coming to the outdoor usage of the phone, it is one of the best in the industry as you can see the screen even with the sun on top of you. During the night time also you get the eyes to be comfortable as the screen can dim itself enough.

Performance

Samsung loads this particular phone with the best in class mid ranged performing chipset the all-new Snapdragon 660 Chip which his developed on the 14nm platform. Assisting the processor is the Adreno 512 GPU which is a really capable device for rendering all the different graphics in any of the game.

There are two different types of RAM options available one is 6GB and the other is an 8GB option which gives the phone more room for keeping the files which are being processed.

Talking about the real world performance of the chipset, it is quite clear that the phone is going to be the best for gamers there is no hiccup in playing games such as the PUBG or the Asphalt 8 even in the highest settings at least for the initial level.

Coming to the daily performance of the phone which includes calling, messaging, and other then also the phone is highly capable to do the same and there is no issue in making calls like they getting delayed by a second or so, etc.

Coming to the normal performance of the mobile phone we can say that the phone will be making most out of the resource and hence can easily load over 7 apps in the memory without any getting out of the memory.

Camera

Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) comes with a quad camera setup at the rear of the phone, starting with the primary sensor it is a 24MP one which comes with an aperture value of f/1.7. The other three secondary sensors are divided into an Ultra Wide lens, Telephoto Lens and another lens for depth sensing.

The Ultra Wide one is having a focal length of 12mm and comes with an aperture value of f/2.4, a sensor inside is an 8MP unit. Talking of the Telephoto unit it is a 10MP one with f/2.4 aperture and offers 2x optical zoom. Depth sensor is a 5MP unit with an aperture value of f/2.2.

All these camera unit makes it possible for the phone to have a great image reproduction when it comes out of the processor. Although the display of the phone is great, still the images look good and you get the best of feeling from the images without any issue.

Contrast and saturation of every Samsung phone had been the best and same is the case with the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018). Talking of the front sensor it is a 24MP one which comes with an aperture value of f/2.0. This unit also makes it quite well in the daytime and even in the night time without any visible issues. Although at times you might notice that the phone is having a bit of issue in capturing selfies during the night time, that is quite obvious for most of the devices.

Battery

The device comes with a 3800 mAh battery which is capable of Samsung’s Fast Charging Technology. Due to fast charging, the phone can easily be charged from 8% to 100% in just 1& ½ hours while the phone discharges at a slow pace and can be running well for over 25 hours without any issue. But overnight charges on this phone is quite important as when it reaches under 25% the performance of the phone gets down, and you need to charge the phone immediately.

Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) is one of the best phone in the industry currently available for all the different types of users.
