Huawei Mate 20X Review

Huawei is one of the most active members in the telecom industry it is quite clear that they are going to do most of the latest changes that are happening in the market with their device too, but Huawei is a brand that is famous for getting a step further and making it possible for people to get new technology in their hands.

Today we are going to talking about the Huawei Mate 20X which is one of the largest flagship device launched in 2018, hence let us have a look at the review of the all-new Huawei Mate 20 X in terms of design, performance, camera output, and battery life, and compare with a couple of other devices so that you can get a better overview of the all-new device

Design & Build

The all new Huawei Mate 20 X works quite well in terms of design we have the front with a small notch on the front which is good enough only to hold the front camera of the phone. Despite there is a notch on the phone we do have a slight bezel both on the front and the bottom which is kind of disappointing.

Although this can be get used to just in a single day. At the back of the device, we have a triple camera setup which is there in a square format which makes the device looks appealing and much better. There is even a circle fingerprint scanner present below the camera.

The whole phone is made up of glass i.e. at the back and the front, the glass is mostly the Gorilla Glass 5 as most of the rivals at the same price point are using. The rest of the phone is made up of an aluminum frame, and hence there is no denying the fact that the phone uses all the different premium materials.

Even the in-hand feel of the phone looks quite good, and the sole reason for the same is the fit and finish which gives the phone a heft and the phone feels heavy as well as quite satisfying in the hand.

Display

The main component of the phone is the display especially in today’s generation and hence this I the key point of all the devices. Here on the Huawei Mate 20 X, we get a 7.2-inch display which gets an 87.6% screen to body ratio on the front. The display unit has an FHD+ resolution which counts to 1080 x 2244 pixels.

As you might have noticed, the phone does have an 18.7:9 aspect ratio which is quite unique for the mobile phone. All this makes sure that the phone has a pixel density of well above 320ppi which is 346ppi hence you are not going to notice the pixels while you are using the phone from a respectable distance.

Talking about the Mate 20 X in real life, you can easily notice the crisp texts that you can notice, and the vibrant colors which are necessary for a large display phone, as the display is the only main factor of the phone.

You are going to get mesmerized by the display of the phone easily, and for sure you are going to get good amount of light even in the daytime from the display so that it can be viewed properly, while you can get good amount of darkness in the night so that your eyes don’t hurt while watching media content at the night while sleeping.

Performance

Huawei Mate 20 X comes with the best of the line HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset which is built upon the 7nm platform. This particular chip uses 3 different setups wherein the first one is a higher clocked Cortex A76, the second one is the lower clocked A76, while the last one is the Cortex A55 clocked at 1.8 GHz.

All this makes the phone a capable performer. The Graphics unit is the Mali G76 MP10 and hence it is quite obvious that the best of the graphics are going to be loaded on the current device. The device comes with a single RAM option of 6GB with an internal storage option of 128GB.

In real-world conditions, it is quite clear that we are going to have a good time playing games on this one, as it is much better than the existing top of the line processor from Qualcomm the Snapdragon 845.

Talking about the performance, you can easily have a look at the games such as PubG and Asphalt 8 and even Modern Combat where you will be having quite a lot of fun playing these as they are just like using WhatsApp or using any media applications for the much far capable Huawei Mate 20 X.

Camera

On the camera front, the Huawei Mate 20 X happens to have a good setup wherein the primary lens is a wide angle one at 27mm and comes loaded with a 40MP sensor which is having an aperture value of f/1.8. The secondary lens here is the 20MP one which comes with an aperture value of f/2.2 where there is a 16mm ultra-wide lens.

There is even an 8MP lens which is actually a telephoto lens where the focal length is 80mm and makes it a 5x optical zoom unit. On the front, there is a single lens wherein the sensor is a 24MP one with f/2.0 aperture. This particular lens is 26mm wide i.e. the same as that was with the rear lens.

When clicking the pictures in the wild you will notice the true power of the lenses used on this mobile phone. The images come tad sharp when you need, and even the bokeh mode turns out quite well where you are going to look after the three different lenses on the phone.

The color reproduction on this particular unit is the best, and the images come with the real good amount of sharpness, contrast, and even the pictures either in the daytime or in the night time both come really well without any issue. Either the front or the rear both the cameras has a good amount of capturing capacity.

Battery

The all new Huawei Mate 20 X comes with a 5000 mAh battery which is going to have the phone power up for the whole day without any issue. When you look forward to the phone you will surely notice that the battery loss, especially on the standby, is really less, and even while you are gaming you are going to get a good amount of battery life so that you can use the phone all day long even while gaming.

Verdict

Huawei has made a great device in terms of Huawei Mate 20 X, it is a really good phone for the money you are actually putting on. The camera unit is quite great, along with the performance that you can easily get from the Kirin 970. Even the build and looks of the phone are top notch hence there is no issue from the phone.
