How to set up VPN on a Chromebook using the L2TP protocol

First, you need to get a CA certificate from your VPN service provider. Once you get, follow the below steps to install it.

  1. Open Chrome and type chrome://settings/certificates into the address bar.
  2. Click the “Authorities” tab at the top of the page.
  3. Now, press “Import,” choose the CA certificate, and follow on-screen instructions.
  4. Next, click on your account photo in the bottom right corner of the Chromebook screen.
  5. Now, open “Settings.”
  6. Here, select the “Add connection” option placed under the “Network” section.
  7. Now tap on “Add OpenVPN/L2TP.”
  8. Here, type the info (username, password or VPN Serial code) into the form and select “Connect”.

That’s it. Now you have a successfully working VPN service on your Chromebook.
