iPhone X vs iPhone 11 Comparison

Devices from Apple are known for their performance and build quality. Both the iPhone X and iPhone 11 are best in all the aspects, but they differ when they are compared side by side. iPhone X is 2017’s flagship from Apple, while iPhone 11 is the entry-level device from Apple.

As both the devices are available in the market at the same price bracket, and it’s time for people using iPhone X to upgrade to the latest iPhone, we are here to compare both the device against each other in different aspects, so you can get to a decision for your next device.

Design & Build

iPhone X and iPhone 11 both come with a glass sandwich design, which gives the devices a premium appeal. Of the two the iPhone X feel more premium, and at the same time is much better in terms of build quality, as it comes with Stainless Steel surrounds on all 4 sides.

Talking of the iPhone 11 it employs Aluminium build to keep the cost down, this not only removes the premium looks from the phone but makes it more prone to dents and scratches.

Talking about the placement of the buttons both the phone have identical placements which start with a power button on to the right, while volume rocker, and slider on the left. At the bottom, we have the speakers and the lightning port. At the rear side are the major changes between the two.

The iPhone X has a vertical camera module towards the left side of the phone. Even the iPhone 11 has the camera module on to the left, but now the vertical camera module is converted to more of a square.

Display

iPhone was known to be using LCD panels since long, and haven’t migrated to OLED despite most companies have migrated to. iPhone X was the first device with an OLED display, but to keep the cost low, iPhone 11 still comes with an LCD display.

The top of the line variants of iPhone launched this year i.e. iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max both comes with an OLED display. Another drawback of the display of iPhone 11 is the resolution, it comes with just HD+ resolution which is quite low when compared with the iPhone X.

Although both the devices are quite good in terms of display, it is the iPhone X which brings back the iPhone 11 by a huge margin. The screen of the iPhone X is much sharper and provides better blacks to the user, which results in better contrast ratio.

If we keep the lower resolution and display type aside, the iPhone 11 still has the best IPS LCD screen by industry standards, this results into the user experiencing great picture quality while using the device in daily use.

Performance

The iPhone 11 comes with the latest Apple A13 Bionic chipset which is built on 7mm+ platform. This is a huge upgrade in terms of performance when compared with the iPhone X. The iPhone 11 owns a Hexa core processor while the iPhone X uses a quad-core processor. This makes the performance of the new device much better than the previous one.

As iPhone 11 comes with an HD+ display while iPhone X comes with an FHD+ display, which makes it easier for the iPhone 11’s processor to perform, as the processor has to push much lower pixels to the screen. This results in faster performance of the phone.

In real-time, the users are not going to notice any difference between the two unless you are keeping both of them side to side, and performing heavy tasks. Especially in gaming the latest iPhone 11 is going to outperform the iPhone X.

The iPhone X comes with 3 Gigs of RAM while the iPhone 11 comes with 4Gigs of RAM which will make the latest device much better in terms of multi-tasking capability. In day to day work, it will not be much evident, but when you will try to do heavy multitasking, then iPhone X will show its shortcomings.

Camera

The camera is always the strongest point of any Apple device, the same is the case with iPhone X and iPhone 11. Both have the best in class camera components, where the iPhone X have two different lenses where one is normal, while the other one is a zoom lens.

This year Apple has taken it another way round in-camera, and we have one normal camera, while the other one is ultra-wide. This open ups many different angles for the users to capture the world.

Both the devices use OIS on the primary camera, which will ensure that we are having stable pictures. In the real-world scenario, the images are mostly similar from both the devices, but the quality of the pictures from iPhone 11 is sharper and has better contrast comparatively. The bokeh images of the iPhone 11 are going to be better as it is using the ultra-wide lens instead of the zoom lens for creating the Bokeh images.

The front camera of both the devices are almost identical, and there is close to no difference in the image outcome of either two. The images from iPhone X seems to be better than iPhone 11 especially of the front camera, where the images are having much more details.

Camera comparison on the two are kind of miss and match, if you are selfie addict then iPhone X is going to work for you, while when you are taking pictures mostly via the rear camera, then iPhone 11 will be the best pick for you.

Battery

In terms of battery, the all-new iPhone 11 is going to win the battle as it comes with 3100 mAh battery, while the iPhone X comes with 2700mAh battery. Both the devices have almost similar performance when used extensively. iPhone 11 requires higher power consumption as it deploys an HD+ LCD panel, while the iPhone X saves energy with the help of FHD+ OLED panel.

In a real-world scenario, you will get similar results with both the devices, with iPhone 11 user being in profit of better battery life by a bit of margin. iPhone X will need to be topped up by Evening, while iPhone 11 will take you through the day, and will require a full charge in the night.

The battery is kind of subjective on terms of usage, you can get through with very low battery if you are occasional user, while you will require a top-up on the best battery smartphone if you are a power user.

Verdict

It is quite tough to decide on either two devices. Both are on the almost same scale in almost all the factors, with a couple of points being taken by the iPhone 11, while a couple of them going to the iPhone X.

If you are someone who takes the phone with care, and looks after it in a case and doesn’t want to flaunt with the body of the device can take the iPhone 11. Also, the users with Rear Camera preference and those who need performance will get their hands onto the all-new device.

Although if you are someone who needs to get the best display your money can get, and the best selfie camera then iPhone X is the phone to go with. Even the build quality of the iPhone X is way better than the one found on the iPhone 11.
