6 Core Reasons to Choose Android Solution for Digital Signage

6 Core Reasons to Choose Android Solution for Digital Signage

In the old days, you had to find your own digital sign software, you had to find a way to link it to your computer or somehow run your signs using a screencast from your computer. It was an ugly time for digital signs. These days, you can buy Android TV digital signage hardware and software in the morning and have high-quality content running on tens of your digital signs by the evening. It is that easy!

1 – You Already Know Android

Both you and your staff already know Android. It is one of the most popular Smartphone operating systems on the planet. It is frequently being updated, which helps eliminate problems like your technology going out of date. You know how to use and how troubleshoot the software. Even if you are not sure about the specifics, you have an intuitive understanding of the software because you understand how it works. You know what the icons are for cancel, for settings, for the home screen, and so forth.

2 – It is a Plug-and-Play

Back in the old days, you would have to run through several troubleshooting sessions, bug hunts, and problem-solving. You would have to spend time getting the installation right. If you didn’t get it right, then you may have a problem now, in the future, or when you try to add new signs to your setup. With Android devices and software, most of what you use will install once you plug it in. The most difficult part is probably the part where you have to sign into the device.

3 – It is Cheaper Than Apple

What is the difference between Apple devices/software and Android devices/software for your digital signs? The answer is “Price.” In fact, that is the only major difference in the software and hardware for digital signs. Even when Apple or Android devices are used, people still run the signs from their Microsoft computers. They create their content on their Microsoft Windows computers and then have to decide if their digital signs and/or streaming devices have an Apple or Android design and software. In most cases, people pick Android simply because the hardware and software is a lot cheaper than what Apple offers.

4 – It is Better Than Microsoft

If you want a computer to create your digital sign content, or to schedule your content, then the Microsoft PC is the best possible option. It gives you all the screen size and computing power you need to get the job done quickly, efficiently and correctly. However, when it comes to streaming devices, Smartphones, digital signs, and smart TVs, then Microsoft is very inferior when compared with Android and Apple. These smaller devices, especially digital sign hardware, is better served by Android or Apple than by Microsoft.

5 – Fixing Hacker and Malware Problems is Easier

Problems may occur with your signs. They may be targeted by malware producers and/or hackers. If this is the case, you are not dealing with a larger and more complex operating system, which means you can wipe the device and complete a reinstall pretty easily. Even ransomware can often be undone by wiping the device and installing the Android software again. It is easy.

6 – Scaling Up Isn’t Too Difficult

Perhaps you want ten signs and each says a different thing, or maybe you want them all to say the same things. Perhaps you want more signs in different geographical locations. Even if you are planning a very complex setup, scaling up from a single sign to multiple signs isn’t so difficult with Android. In truth, it isn’t that different with Apple either, but the fact is that Android makes scaling up your operation a lot easier than with its various competitors.
