Airtel begins live testing of 5G Network – What is the 5G Internet speed?

Here is everything you need to know about 5G Cell Towers

India is getting ready to be equipped with the new 5G network as both Jio and Airtel are competing each other to bring it first in the country.

Earlier Mukesh Ambani has announced that Jio will start providing 5G network before the end of 2021. But, it seems Airtel picked up the task ahead of Jio.

Airtel become first company in India to have 5G network facility as they have started live testing it in Hyderabad.

How it is possible?

It is revealed that Airtel has equipped its towers and network to provide 4G as well as 5G internet. So, they have started testing 5G network ahead of any other service provider in the country including Ambani’s Jio.

Airtel has said that they have upgraded 4G technology as well as 5G technology on the 1800MHz band. It is also to be noted that Indian government not yet delivered the spectrum for the transformation of 5G network.

Final Decision

“We do not yet have spectrum nor the Government of India has taken any final decision in this direction. Therefore, after making spectrum available by the Government of India, we will completely convert to 5G network. Our engineers have worked hard day and night to show that we have the ability to provide 5G technology-based service. We have always been at the forefront of providing convenience to customers. He said that we are confident that India can emerge as a global hub in 5G technology,” Bharti Airtel CEO Gopal Vittal said.

Internet Speed

As per the reports, this new 5G network will provide 10 times more internet speed than the 4G network. So, roughly it could be around 40Mbps to 100 Mbps. Some experts claims that this is actually not the 5G network proposed by scientists, since it could provide more than 1Gbps internet speed and it needs advanced equipment when compared to the 4G network.
