Android N Preview now Expands to Non-Nexus Devices With Sony Xperia Z3

Android N Preview now Expands to Non-Nexus Devices With Sony Xperia Z3

Till the last few days, google was restricted the Android N preview to the Nexus devices only. But now, we can conclude that they have expanded the Android N preview to the non-nexus device with the Sony Xperia Z3 Android N preview. Google made the Android N Developer Preview available for OEMs to give to their users and allowed the support for the same. So, Sony has released a build of the Android N Developer Preview 2 for the Xperia Z3 smartphone that will be available to the users.

“Use the N Developer Preview to test your apps with new system behaviours for saving power and memory. Extend your apps with new features such as multi-window UI, direct reply notifications and more,”

said the Sony team. On the preview of the Android N on sony device, there are some features like split-screen mode, night mode, improved notifications, and quicker way to switch between apps. That’s very similar to the expected features that we’ve posted before. Users can update their device to the latest OS by connecting it to the computer and then using the Xperia software. The process took a little longer as a lot of changes made when compared to the previous android version on the smartphone.

Anyways Sony users now got a good news as they are the first to get the Android N preview other than the nexus devices. As per the reports, google will expand the preview to more companies in coming days and will be also include further updates in every release. As one of the most awaited Android updates, the N will be something very special after rolling out the complete modifications ot the OS.

Last week they released the second Developer Preview of Android N in the form of factory images for eligible devices, and, OTA updates. There are no speculations or rumors that states whether the update will be available to the upcoming expanding devices. But, we can expect this as they are now planning to take over more devices with the Android N release. If so, more devices will include in the list and will be rolled out soon.
