While we don’t see a confirmation from Apple regarding their upcoming smartphones or something similar to that beforehand, we are all living in unprecedented times right now and it means that anything can happen. For that reason, we have also now seen a confirmation from Apple that their iPhone 12 launch will be delayed this year.

Of course, we knew that the iPhone 12 was coming but it is an official confirmation from the company nevertheless. Also, the fact that Tim Cook reveals it will be “later than usual” and also by “a few weeks” means that the early September launch timeline is out of the question.

It is possible that the iPhone 12 could still be launched in late September of early October and we have seen leaks where October is said to be the launch date. Also, this is important for Apple to announce because of its investors who are waiting for the company to make a call on the same. We know that Apple’s regular event takes place in September so investors might also be eyeing out on the same. But if the event gets delayed, there will be uncertainty and it is better to clear things out.

Apple’s CFO said in their earnings call that “As you know, last year we started selling iPhones in late September,”. He adds that “This year, we expect supply to be available a few weeks later.” meaning that iPhones are definitely going to be available in October. However, we don’t know if that translates to launch event being delayed as well or not.

Because it would be weird if the iPhones are announced almost a month prior to availability. Qualcomm also revealed that they are seeing a key flagship coming with 5G technology to be pushed back and it might be the iPhone they are talking about but we are not sure.
