The phone was well received, and the company wants to rely on this phone, but others that it will launch in the future.
Jerry Shen, CEO of Asus for nearly 10 years, just resigned. This movement is a pretty important one, which will surely have consequences in the company. Even Shen said the Asus mobile phone direction will change. So, we are likely to see more smartphones like ROG Phone and fewer ones in the Zenfone series.
Staying relevant in this industry is not easy, especially when you are dealing with competition from all directions. A company like Asus might just have to win if it heads to the gaming phone niche. Republic of Gamers is a brand already well-known in the industry in terms of game systems and related accessories. Expansion of this mobile segment seems the company will take the next logical step.
