Asus has made a big announcement in the Indian smartphone market for the second iteration of its ROG Phone lineup. We know that the trend of gaming smartphones was started by the likes of Razer, Asus and others. Now, Asus is continuing that trend with the launch of its new gaming smartphone that promises to do a lot of stuff at a price that does not break the bank. For starters, you will get a 120Hz display on the Asus ROG Phone 2 which is 33% faster than the OnePlus 7 Pro. Apart from that, the phone comes with Snapdragon 855+ processor and starts at 8GB RAM.
However, you would expect gaming features on a gaming smartphone and they are all present on this phone from Asus. You get improved ultrasonic Air Triggers 2 for gaming, stereo speakers with DTS: X Ultra support, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. As we have already mentioned, the display on this smartphone has a 120Hz refresh rate which makes the smartphone extremely fast to operate.
Along with that, there is nothing that might slow down the smartphone as well. You get Snapdragon 855+, up to 12GB RAM, up to 512GB of UFS 3.0 internal storage and a display that is super smooth. However, we believe that Asus has disappointed fans as it will only ship a 10W QC 4.0 charger with the base variant. But the higher variant of Asus ROG Phone 2 will come with 30W ROG Charger, AeroActive Cooler, and the Aero Case.
While you wouldn’t necessarily think of cameras on a gaming phone, you still get great cameras on the ROG Phone 2. The Asus smartphone comes with 48-megapixel primary camera, along with a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera with a 125-degrees field of view. On the front, you also get a 24MP selfie camera which can be used for live streaming. Apart from that, there is a massive 6000 mAh battery on the device which is powered by QC 4.0 support for quick charging. The price of Asus’s ROG Phone 2 with 8GB RAM & 128GB storage starts at Rs. 37,999 while the top-end variant will set you back by Rs. 59,999.
