We have seen so many leaks and reports of the Google Pixel 5 series which includes the Google Pixel 5 as well as the Google Pixel 4a 5G and it is worth noting that the Google Pixel 5 XL was not slated to come this year. Now, Google’s end-of-September event took place last night and we have officially seen the Pixel 5.

As expected, the Pixel 5 XL is not coming and the Pixel 5 is also not a top-notch flagship phone like the previous Pixel phones. In saying that, we do acknowledge the fact that Google has cut down on the pricing of its Pixel 5 as well.

Talking about the price, Google Pixel 5 is available at $699 in the US and it is worth noting that the phone is not coming to India. As far as the Pixel 5 is concerned, it will have 5G support thanks to the Snapdragon 765G processor inside it. On the other hand, the Soli chip has been removed in favour of a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

As always, the focus of the Pixel 5 is on its cameras which are a dual-camera setup of 12.2 MP wide camera and a 16MP ultrawide camera with 107 field-of-view. On the front is an 8MP selfie shooter for the Pixel 5 and we do know that most of the heavy lifting is done by software on the Pixel phones.

The display has a punch-hole and is almost bezel-less compared to the previous Pixel phones and it might be the best looking Pixel phone out yet. However, it does look like any other phone in the mid-range segment and there is not much to differentiate between the Pixel 5 and the Pixel 4a design apart from the build material. The phone comes with 8GB of RAM and supports wireless as well as reverse-wireless charging with availability starting October 29 in the US.
