HONOR has officially announced that it will launch its new foldable phone, the HONOR Magic V5, on August 28th in London. The phone was first unveiled in China last month and is now ready for its global debut.
The company shared that it is now the fastest-growing foldable brand in Europe this year. According to a Counterpoint Research report, HONOR’s market share in the book-type foldable category jumped from 11% to 34% in 2024. Experts also expect the foldable market in Europe to grow further, with foldables making up almost 10% of premium smartphone sales by 2028.
For the global launch, the Magic V5 will be available in three color options: Ivory White, Dawn Gold, and Black. It also supports the Magic Pen, making it useful for those who want to sketch or take notes. HONOR highlighted that the Magic V5 is slim at just 8.8 mm and is also the lightest foldable phone yet, weighing only 217 grams.
The international version will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and comes with a 5820 mAh battery that supports 66 W wired charging and 50 W wireless charging. It also carries IP58 and IP59 ratings, which mean it is resistant to both dust and water. On the camera side, it features a 64MP 3x periscope telephoto camera for clear zoom shots.
The Magic V5 has two displays: a 7.95-inch foldable OLED inner screen (2352×2172) and a 6.43-inch outer OLED screen (2376×1060). Both panels offer 120 Hz refresh rates, Dolby Vision support, up to 5000 nits peak brightness, and 4320 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming for smoother visuals and eye comfort.
With its sleek design, lightweight build, powerful performance, and premium features, HONOR is clearly aiming to position the Magic V5 as a strong contender in the global foldable market.
