We have just seen that the new iPhones from Apple were released in its iPhone 11 series. For the first time ever, Apple released a Pro variant of the iPhone 11 which also comes with a Max variant. Now, we know that the latest iPhones come with all the latest technology advancements including the latest version of iOS, iOS 13. Talking about iOS 13, there is something interesting which was found out from the code of latest version of iOS. The code reveals that Apple is working on its Augmented Reality headset.

In the latest hint, Apple’s iOS 13 code gives a readme to its employees on how they can run the augmented reality apps on an iPhone without using the actual headset. Now, we know that Apple has discussed Augmented Reality already. But there is no word from Apple about an AR headset existing so it looks like the company has a demo ready internally.

Also, iOS 13.1 beta contains Apple’s “StarBoard” system which is a shell to run AR apps. Now, it seems like the AR rendering part would be handled by the iPhone itself. Having said that, we would also like to mention that Apple did not even have a single word regarding AR/VR in its iPhone 11 launch event. Therefore, it seems as if the Augmented Reality feature on the iPhone is still not ready and it might take until next year.

However, we also know that Apple’s announcements for this year have not come to an end. The company will most likely hold an event next month to announce its latest iPad Pro, MacBook Pro 16-inch as well as Apple TV. This might be the time when Apple announces something regarding Augmented Reality on its lineup of devices. Reports also suggest that Apple has scheduled its AR headsets for release in 2020.
