Beware of these malicious Android cleaner apps according to Trend Micro

Malware comes in various forms. Some people will inject in spammy ways and some people are taking advantage of the Google Play store to spread the malware.

Industry popular security advisor Trend Micro released the latest list of malware containing apps from the Google Play store. These apps have more than 470,000 downloads and running successfully on users devices. The apps contain potential malware bug which collects the user data and you can’t expect the level of damage they do to you.

The worst part of these apps is, they require Google or Facebook credentials to sign-up into the program. It means your Facebook and Google credentials also compromised.

The company detected the malware in the apps like Android booster, utility, and optimizer apps (detected by Trend Micro as AndroidOS_BadBooster.HRX) which are capable of accessing remote ad configuration servers that can be used for malicious purposes.

The problem starts when the user installs any of these apps on their device, they start collecting your data and also has chances of transparent activity background.

If you are already using any of these apps, uninstall immediately and change your Facebook or Google passwords which are used in the signup process.
