Netflix Introduces ‘My Netflix’: A New Tab for Trailers, Reminders, and More

Netflix Introduces 'My Netflix'

Today, Netflix has unveiled a new feature called “My Netflix,” catering to mobile users who seek a convenient way to access their favorite and must-watch content swiftly. This dedicated space provides easy access to recently viewed movies and TV shows, downloaded titles, trailers, reminders for upcoming releases, liked (thumbs up) content, the “Continue Watching” section, and the beloved “My List” among other features.

Replacing the previous “Downloads” tab at the bottom-right corner of the screen, “My Netflix” serves as a comprehensive hub, allowing viewers to find all their desired series and movies in one convenient location. This eliminates the need for excessive scrolling and endless swiping to explore Netflix’s vast library of titles.

“When you’re on the move with your phone, go directly to My Netflix, where you can quickly choose something you’ve saved or downloaded to watch. You can still visit your Home tab and other sections of the app to discover our full catalog of series and films,” Netflix Product Manager, Edith Chao.

Netflix acknowledges that the more users engage with the platform and express their preferences, the more tailored recommendations they will receive on the “My Netflix” tab. So, by adding titles to “My List” or giving a thumbs up to shows like “Bridgerton,” users can enhance their personalized content recommendations. With this thoughtful addition, Netflix aims to enhance the user experience and make it even easier for subscribers to find and enjoy their favorite entertainment.

The rollout of “My Netflix” commences on iOS devices today, while Android users can expect to access it in early August. Additionally, Netflix recently reported robust second-quarter results, boasting a significant increase of 5.9 million subscribers, totaling a staggering 238.4 million global members. This further solidifies Netflix’s position as a dominant force in the world of streaming entertainment.
