Google Translate

We are sure that you must have used one of Google’s best services called Google Translate. This is the service that would be used mostly by travellers because of the language barrier that they have when travelling to places where their native language is not spoken.

Also, we have seen that Google translate has gotten so much better over time that we now have live voice translations inside the app and many other features. You can also point to a particular photo in a different language and it will detect as well as translate the text into your language inside the image.

While we can’t say that every language is available on the platform, we can say that languages that have more than a few million people speaking them are available on the platform. However, there were some languages which were missing and we can now report that five new languages have been added to the platform. This will make the people who speak those languages extremely happy.

Talking about these new languages, we have one Indian language that has been added newly and it is the Odia language also known as Oriya. This is the official language spoken by people in Orissa, a place situated in the eastern part of India. Apart from that, Google Translate now supports Kinyarwanda, the official language of Rwanda.

Tatar, a Turkic language spoken by Tatar people in European Russia and Siberia. Along with that, we now have Turkmen which is the official language of Turkmenistan as well as Uyghur which is also a Turkic language spoken by people living in China’s autonomous Xinjiang district.

All in all, we can say that Google is doing a great job in recognizing and adding languages officially spoken by millions outside of European and North American countries.
