We have seen that there has been a lot of criticism regarding China in recent times because of the Coronavirus pandemic because everyone knows that it is the origin country from where this virus spread.

However, we have also seen that Chinese products are now getting boycotted as well to “teach them a lesson” as some have said. As part of this, it is known that Chinese smartphones have been targetted along with apps made by Chinese developers. As far as Chinese apps are concerned, TikTok comes first on the mind.

This app has been developed by ByteDance which is a Chinese company and it is also known for censoring a lot of voices which speak against the Chinese government. Apart from that, it has been seen that TikTok has a lot of vulgar content in India which should not be there on any public platform whatsoever.

For that reason, TikTok is starting to be hated inside India and people are now looking for alternatives. We do have an Indian alternative for TikTok which is named as “Mitron” and the name is taken from what Indian PM refers to the citizens of India.

At this moment, we know that patriotism is running high inside every country and people are trying to ride on that wave as well. Because TikTok’s alternative “Mitron” has now generated 5 million downloads on the Google Play Store.

As per the reports, IIT Roorkee student Shivank Agarwal is the creator of the Indian TikTok alternative. It is known that the Mitron app does have its bugs right now but we can add sounds for our videos like TikTok right now too. On the other hand, the video editing interface of this app lacks the filters and effects that are available on TikTok so we can say that it is a work in progress.
