One thing we have found is that there are people out there who are known to be power users of email apps too. Now, we know that those who work a lot of emails should know much more than those who use them casually. However, some of the email, and even Gmail users, are such power users that they know various tricks and methods to do the job quickly. Now, Gmail is getting even more powerful for them as new filters are being added to the platform which will make finding emails easier.
Basically, you will be able to filter your emails based on specific categories such as label: work, has: attachment, from:marketing@company.com for example. This filter will give you all the emails which are labelled as work emails, have an attachment inside them and are from a specific email address. This is quite handy when you have a ton of emails and you need to find specific ones which might be from months ago.
A new feature called “search chips” will be added by Google inside Gmail so that you can easily search for emails using filters. This “search chips” will appear below the search box so that they can easily found and used more often. You can now search your emails by the type of attachments too. For example, if you have an email from same sender with same attachments but different types of attachment such as PDF, Doc file or PPT then you can mention attachment type.
Google also revealed that it is getting a lot of feedback regarding search inside Google which needs to be “faster and more intuitive.” For this reason, Google has added these new filters and it will hopefully make life easier for many around the world. Since the feature is for power users, it is available for Gsuite users only starting today.
