Ashampoo Snap 7 Review & Giveaway

Taking screen shots in Windows is performed by Snipping tool or Win+Print Sc. But the snipping not so user friendly and Win+Print Sc captures the entire Window. Ashampoo Snap 7 is a wonderful program to take screen shots easily on Windows. Snap 7 is a brand new version of Snap series in Ashampoo. It is capable of capturing both images and videos.

Installation & Usage of Snap 7

The installation of Snap 7 is very easy, download the installer from Ashampoo website and install it. After the successful installation, the program automatically start and shows help file.

Image Capture

The shortcuts and UI bar is reside on the top of the screen. A small line is visible on the top right corner of the screen. It is visible when you move mouse cursor on the small line. The bar displays some very useful shortcuts to capture images and videos.

Functions added in the bar: Capture Video, Capture scrolling Window, Capture Internet Explorer, Capture Multiple Windows, Capture single Window, Capture Free Rectangle Region, Capture Free Style Region, Capture Fixed Region, Capture Menu, Timed Capture, Color Picker, MultiShot On/Off, Stop Capture/Edit File and Configure.

You can define hotkeys for all screen capture possible functionalities. I personally liked the Color Picker tool, it is very useful tool for web developers and Photoshop editors.

Using Snap 7 you can take screenshot of any type that visible on the Window. Simply select type of object you want to capture and click.

After taking screenshot, you are taken to the editor immediately, and editor opens in full screen with a ton of great editing and sharing features. The tools are placed in the top left & right, side life & right of the screen. In that the left and top icons offer editing options like resize and text adding feature. On the right side toolbar you have the sharing features like Dropbox, Google Drive and Microsoft Sky Drive support and also has support to share link with your friends.

Video Capture

Video Capture has same features like image capturing. Simply select a rectangular region or a single Window and start recording. The quality of default output is top notch, if you want more you can customize the output settings like frame rate, audio and video codec, bitrate and audio format etc. By default the video can be saved as wmv or avi format on the disk after capturing ends.

Conclusion

Personally I’m totally satisfied with options and features included in Snap 7. It has robust capturing and editing tools. If you are looking for a serious screenshot taking tool capable of image and video capturing try Ashampoo Snap 7.
