Installation

User Interface

The program’s interface is very basic, on the left side you’ll see a list of available locations to choose. After selecting desired location, simply click on “Connect” button to activate VPN service. After successful connection, you can close the window to minimize into the system tray. You can right-click on the system tray icon to open up the connect, sign in, quit, and open up the main window.

Performace

I connected to each location using our two test networks, connecting locations is very fast. The main window just has one button, Connect when you are not connected, and Disconnect when you are. I tested the VPN on various networks, using WiFi, LAN, and public networks. I didn’t notice any lag with SaferVPN while viewing videos online or surfing the Web. To measure network speed and performance, I ran the speed tests available on speedtest.net to measure download and upload speeds when connecting to servers in different cities with and without VPN. The performance is very solid and comparable to other services on the list. It handles everything for the user, which is a good thing for users who just want to be left alone to do their own thing.
