The success of the Xiaomi has proved that Chinese brands are ready to change their way of branding in front of the world. Personally, I’m on a hunt for a good looking, feature-packed budget-friendly smartphone with good hardware. Since then I’ve been ready for a cheap, but a competent smartphone, one I don’t have to worry about and I found it in Xiaomi Mi 4i.
Xiaomi Mi 4i Review: Build Quality & Features
The essence of the Xiaomi Mi 4i’s appeal lies in its combination of an extremely clean design and ultimate features of an Android. The Xiaomi Mi 4i is powered by 64 bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, dual SIM slots, 4G LTE support, 5 inches 1920 x 1080 pixels (441 PPI) screen and runs on MIUI 6 based on Android Lollipop 5.0.
The quality of screen gorgeous, it has 5 inch JDI screen fully laminated OGS Corning Concore protection and scratch resistant glass. The screen supports 1920 x 1080 pixels (441 ppi) with good viewing angles. On the sensors side, it is packed with light, accelerometer, proximity, gyro and magnetic sensors.
Hardware wise the Mi 4i truly brings it to the great cameras, excellent display, good amount of storage and a large battery. On the connectivity side, it has 4G, 3G, Wi-Fi Dual band 2.4GHz and 5GHz, GPS and Bluetooth 4.1 (low energy) and GPS. It comes with a 16GB internal storage, and the sad part is it doesn’t have upgrade option (No memory card slot).
The Mi 4i is priced at a low $225 however it packs in a big bang for its buck. The Mi 4i is pleasing to look at and hold, its curves and lines are friendly. It comfortably fits in my hand. Gaming is not a problem on the 4i, the Adreno 405 GPU load times are highly quick. GPU renders 2D and 3D graphics with easy and most games perform well at high graphics.
Xiaomi Mi 4i Review: Performance
The performance on the phone is excellent and everything just seems to be too good to be true. It has a really great smartphone camera, Xiaomi thinks the Mi 4is camera is good enough to replace your traditional Camera. Networks are strong and phone calls are clear on both sim cards with good quality of sound. The Speaker is surprisingly loud and will satisfy the needs of outdoor. Battery life was a mixed bag. On most days, the Mi 4i made it through the full workday without issue and had a small balance left at night.
If your top priorities are look out a new smartphone with great build quality, fast responsiveness, and an amazing display you should go for Mi 4i. With all of that said, the Xiaomi Mi 4i makes for a fantastic package considering what you’re paying.
