It is difficult to remember the IP addresses of all sites. Hence, there is an URL system for simplicity. The main purpose of the DNS is to convert the domain name into IP address.
An interesting point to note is that the DNS has its own internal network. For example, a specific DNS server will communicate with others till the domain name is properly resolved to an IP address.
If you existing Internet connectivity is slow, you should consider employing the alternative system. Be default, you Internet Service Provider (ISP) will provide you a DNS server. Nowadays, providers have employed strict quality control measures. Hence, there will not be any problem. In case if you face any issues with DNS servers, you can opt for alternate DNS servers.
You can either make use of OpenDNS or Google DNS to boost the speed of your Internet connectivity. If you are unaware, OpenDNS is a popular DNS service oriented for users who are experiencing feeble connectivity. You should follow the steps mentioned below to setup DNS servers properly.
