Youtube is a most famous platform to see videos on the web. It is one of the finest video resources that cover every category starting from educational purpose to entertainment. Now the YouTube has emerged as billion views per day streaming network among other competitors. We see various people are uploading their videos to showcase their works in front of the world. Literally, YouTube has an unlimited number of videos to stream. YouTube streaming is very slow on below 1 Mbps connections. To stream 2min 240p video, it will take at least 2 to 3 minutes time to load completely.
Speed up and Improve YouTube Streaming in Windows
- Click the Start button, type “cmd”, and right click the icon to Run As Administrator.
- Copy the below-given command and paste it into cmd (command prompt)
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="thetechhacker" dir=in action=block remoteip=18.104.22.168/24,22.214.171.124/16 enable=yes
Now open your browser and check the Youtube performance. I was successfully able to stream videos in 480p without any breaks. In this technique, the above command blocks a huge range of IP addresses belonging to Google and other networks. It may cause some issues with connecting some websites in future. You can easily undo this hack by simply entering this command in cmd (command prompt).
netsh advfirewall firewall delete rule name="thetechhacker"
Sometimes cache store on your computer can affect the loading speed of the YouTube. Clear the browser cache on your computer regularly to minimize the slowing effect of video streaming. There are many programs available to clear the unnecessary browsing cache from PC. For example, CCleaner is one of the reputed programs for cleaning browser cache on your machine.
Change the lower Video Quality
Many times we see slow buffering rate when YouTube tries to stream an HD video in slow internet speeds. You can speed up buffering speed by lowering the video quality. For example, if a 1080p video is facing hiccups while loading you can change the video quality to 720p. This will reduce the loading time of the video and streams up quickly.
Use YouTube DNS
Changing to the YouTube DNS will speed up the Youtube buffering speeds. To change the YouTube DNS follow the below steps.
For Windows 7/8/8.1/10 Users
