Using gestures like swiping, tapping, and pinching, users can control the objects in their screens or type messages on the virtual keyboard. Though it is now owned by Google, they released its source code under open source license. Thus, device makers are able to modify the OS code without paying any licensing fees. Since 2008, there are now 28 versions of the Android OS released including Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jellybean, KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow, Nougat, and Oreo.
Daily Use of Smartphone
Since we can install tons of applications and programs in our phones, it became a huge part of our daily lives. We can say that most of us can’t leave our house without it because we always use it for several reasons. Aside from texts and calls, we can now do so many things with our smartphones. There are tons of messaging apps like WhatsApp, Line, Snapchat, Viber, Skype, and Messenger to name a few. Furthermore, almost everyone is addicted to social media sites. We are compelled to post where we are or what we are doing. We snap a photo and upload it to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Tumblr. Students can even do research using this handy device.
