How to Access Facebook Full Site for Desktop from your Phone

How to Access Facebook Full Site for Desktop from your Phone

In the last five years, the level of sophistication of websites is greatly increased. There are many numbers of peoples who are browsing the websites on their smartphones. Because of this reason, every developer starts developing mobile-friendly websites through which you do not need to zoom in or zoom out on your Smartphone to see the pictures, articles, blogs, etc.

Now you can easily watch all the things without zoom in and out. A lot of website in the market are available which uses responsive web design and allow the user to change or modify the web page which fits in their smartphones of any size or shape while some websites still displaying the web page in other layouts.

But this is also true that mobile sites do not always work perfectly. Some functionality may be hidden on smartphones which you can see on the desktops while browsing any website. No doubt the website is running on the smartphone with usability and smoothness but lack of functionalities.

Sometimes when the user wants to find some specific features on their favorite websites and not able to find because of using the smartphone then it gets frustrated the users. Talking about the Facebook then this is not different from other websites. Theoretically, the feature of the desktop version and a mobile version comes with the same capabilities on Android and iOS mobile applications.

Most of the users prefer the browser to access the Facebook because the browser save the room on the internal storage of their phone and it also hides the annoying design of Facebook. It opens for all the users that mobile application for Facebook takes a lot of memory and room of your phone.

Unfortunately, Facebook limits some of the functions on the mobile application which you can see on your desktop. If you want to use the browser then you need to install the separate messenger app because browser does not allow you to use messenger.

If you want to change the settings which restrict you at the time of using the Facebook mobile site then let’s break down this problem. Because here we are discussing the methods through which you can access the full Facebook site on your smartphone:

Technique one to access Facebook Full Site for Desktop from your Phone

To access the Facebook full site on your mobile phone, you just need to open the web browser and reach on the URL box present at the top of the browser. When you tap on it, a mobile keyboard should extend. Now, you just need to type the URL which is given below:

facebook.com/home.php

There is no need to add https:// or www. It will automatically load the page without typing this. If your Facebook account is already logged on your smartphone then it will automatically load the web page in desktop version but if you have not logged in before or you logged out previously then it will redirect the page into mobile login screen page.

You just need to type your login ID and password. Sometimes when you enter the login ID and password then it still shows the Facebook in the mobile version. Just be relaxed.

Clear the tabs and history of your browser and again type the link which is given above on your browser’s URL. When your page will load properly then you will see that it will open in the desktop version where you can do all the activities just like you will do on your desktop.

It is my personal recommendation to bookmark this link so that you can open the Facebook site in desktop version easily. The only difference in the mobile version and desktop version is due to home.php. If you type Facebook.com then it will load the page in mobile version while adding home.php allows you to use the Facebook in the desktop version.

Technique Two

Sometimes it may happen that you do not want all the time to access the full Facebook site for desktop on your mobile phone. Most of the users want the desktop version when they need. Well, you can do this also. The web browser allows you to use this features on your Android and iOS smartphones.

The browsers like Chrome and Safari have the options itself through which you can use the desktop version when you want to see the web pages and hides the version when you don’t want. You just need to change one thing on your browser. We tested this on chrome browser. Let us take a look on this platform for Android users:

For Android Users

The default browser for Android is Chrome. So if are using an Android smartphone then just open the web browser on your mobile phone. There are many other browsers which provide this facility. If you are using any third party web browser for Android then you need to find this option on that web browser in some hidden options.

Now open the Facebook on the standard mobile site. No need to type the link which we described above because it will always show the desktop version. You cannot switch from desktop to mobile version. Same this is there. If you are logged out then login first. Reload the page if your browser redirects you to the mobile application site. Once you reload the web page then it will redirect you to the mobile version page.

You will find the triple dotted button at the top right side. Click on it and find the ‘Request Desktop Site’ option. You will see this option along with the checkbox. By clicking on this option, you will see that the checkbox automatically fills. Sometimes you will see a pop-up box with allowing and deny options to set the location settings.

After doing this, the browser will reload and you will see that the site will open in the desktop version. Now you are able to change the settings and do all the things which you can do on your desktop.

If you again want to switch to mobile version then you need to do the same thing again. Now, click on the triple dotted menu and uncheck the option of ‘Request Desktop Site’ and you can see the mobile version of a web page. You can switch whenever you want.

For iOS users

The process to switch from mobile version to desktop version in iOS is almost similar just like in Android except for the different layouts of buttons. Just log in your Facebook account on the Safari web browser as we discussed above. Once the site is loaded, you will find the share button present at the bottom side of the Safari web browser.

You will see many options in which ‘Request Desktop Site’ is one of them. Click on this option just like Chrome and the page will reload itself. After that, you will find that your web page on an iOS device is converted into the desktop version. In the same way, you can switch again to the mobile version if you want.

Conclusion

All the above techniques are much easy to use but sometimes Facebook tries to push you back to the mobile version. This mostly happens when you want to change some settings of the Facebook account. If you face this problem then follow the same methods again which I mentioned above to switch from the mobile to desktop version.

When we tested then sometimes it will redirect the page into the tablet version with the same functionalities as the mobile version. Don’t worry. Do the same thing again and check the request desktop site option is enabled or not. If you think we are missing out something or you have any other method then write your comment below anytime.
