How to Fix Windows 10 Shutdown too slow issue

Windows 10 is the best and annoying update Microsoft ever has to offer for PC users. Yes, that’s very much true – or else I wouldn’t be writing this blog post to help you out. So, in this case, we will be talking about how to fix windows 10 slow shutdown issue.

Well, this can happen for several reasons, so you need to first identify what’s causing it and then fix it. Here’s what you can do:

1. Upgrade to an SSD

If you have a Hard Disk Drive equipped on your PC/laptop – prefer upgrading or adding an SSD with Windows 10 installed on it. No matter how much you optimize the performance – having an SSD always proves to be a better solution than trying to do a countless number of fixes. SSDs are now cheaper – so that shouldn’t be a problem.

2. Get Rid of Unnecessary or Pirated Software tools

I mean it – if you keep pirated software tools, you shouldn’t expect your PC to run smooth. It might contain malware unless you scanned it using Bitdefender or Kaspersky.

Always install trusted tools and keep your PC clean from unwanted programs.

3. Keep your Windows up-to-date

Windows 10 should be updated to its latest build available. If you haven’t yet updated, try doing that first. When you regularly update the Windows with latest builds, the performance of the PC will maintain and if any bugs are causing the slow shutdown issue, they will be rectified.

4. By editing the registry

This is not a recommended solution – but it is still an option if you want. Here, you just disable the service which waits to kill all the processes before shutdown – in order to shut down the PC faster. But, do note, this can lead to data inconsistency.

Here’s how you can do that:

Conclusion

Hopefully one of these methods will help you fix Windows 10 shutdown slow issues. What do you think about it? Let us know in the comments.
