If you don’t know, Cortana is a virtual assistant created by the Microsoft Corporation integrated with the Windows 10 OS. In simple terms, it is just a variation of the Siri on iOS, and Google Assistant on Android smartphones.
There are plenty of things you can do with Cortana. For example, you can create reminders, control the smart bulbs and lights, weather forecasts, map directions, play music, add calendar events, look up new words while browsing the web, open Windows 10 apps etc.
Additionally, Cortana on your PC can alert you whenever you miss a call on your phone. To use this feature, you’ll need the Cortana app on an Android or Windows phone.
Cortana does things for you by listening to your voice. But for it to understand your voice and what you are saying, you should train it. In this article, we are going to look into the steps for training Cortana in Windows 10 so that you won’t have to repeat yourself.
Steps to Train Cortana in Windows 10
- Open Cortana by pressing Win+S buttons together.
- Click on the Notebook icon at the left side.
- Click on Settings.
- Click on Learn my voice button.
- Click on the Start button.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and speak the sentences provided to train Cortana.
While training Cortana, make sure that you speak loud and in your natural tone so that Cortana will understand you whenever you instruct it to do something. Do not try to make up your voice or speak unnaturally.
If you make up your voice, you may complete the training for the Cortana, however, once you speak in your natural tone, Cortana will find it difficult to understand what you want. So, you will be forced to repeat the same thing multiple times to make Cortana listen to you.
