Apple launched three new devices the iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max. The iPhone 11 and 11 Pro both have close to same screen size, which results in user getting confused between the two. Both of them are priced nearly, and as iPhone 11 is the entry-level device, while 11 Pro is on a premium side, people get confused to choose one from the both.
Both the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro runs on the same processor, but as they have different screen sizes and resolution the performance of the two differs. Also, the camera setup on the two devices is quite different about which we will learn further in the comparison.
Today we are going to compare both the device’s side by side with respect to their Build Quality, Performance, Display, Camera, and Battery. We will even compare the use cases of the device, hence one can make out which is the better pick of the two for their type of use.
Design & Build
Both the devices have similar placement of the components, but both the devices are built with a different set of materials. Both the devices are a Glass Sandwich, but the iPhone 11 Pro has Stainless Steel in the middle, while the iPhone 11 have Aluminium body in the middle.
Due to this particular reason, the iPhone 11 Pro is much more durable and is much less prone to scratches. iPhone 11 being built from Aluminium which although gives a good feel, but cannot match the Stainless Steel Standards followed by the iPhone 11 Pro.
Talking about the placements we have the Power button on both the devices to the right, while the volume slider and volume rocker is on to the left of the phone. At the back, we have the dual-camera setup on iPhone 11, while the iPhone 11 Pro rocks a Tri – Camera setup.
This time on both the phones we have the Apple logo on the exact center of the device. There is no headphone jack available on either phone, hence at the bottom, we have just the speaker and microphone grills, along with the lightning ports.
Display
There are two types of display in the Smartphone market, one is AMOLED, while the other one is an LCD. Apple was always known for its vibrant and great LCD panels which can bring other AMOLED panels to shame. Since iPhone X apple has started using AMOLED panels on the phone.
This time the iPhone 11 comes with an LCD display, while the iPhone 11 Pro consumes an AMOLED panel. This brings huge difference between the two as the earlier one uses just an HD+ screen, while the latter is an FHD+ one.
Comparing the two side by side makes the iPhone 11 Pro clearly win the show by a huge margin. This doesn’t mean by any chance that iPhone 11 display is not a good one. Indeed the display is really great by IPS LCD standards, and the vibrancy of the panel is onto the next level. One can easily be a fan of the display just by looking at it.
As the iPhone 11 have an HD+ resolution it has to push much lower pixel count. This makes the phone to have better battery life as well as higher performance when doing graphics-intensive work. Let’s have a clear look at it in the performance part of our comparison.
Performance
Both the devices come with the Apple A13 Bionic chipset and come preinstalled with iOS 13. There is not much difference in the performance of the two devices as they have the same internals, the major difference comes in the display performance when there is some graphics-intensive task being performed by the device.
Mostly during games, the iPhone 11 will perform way better than iPhone 11 Pro, this is just due to the lower pixel count being pushed to the screen with the calculations of the game, this makes the device to run cooler and hence churn out better performance with the phone. In daily performance there is no difference between the two, and we are not going to notice even a minor lag on either of the two devices.
Both the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro will have 4 GB of RAM and hence multitasking will not be an issue on either of the device. Although even before, multitasking was never an issue with iOS as the OS handled multiple apps with breeze even with 1GB of RAM.
Camera
This is the major difference between the two devices. There is a different setup of camera on the two. The iPhone 11 comes with 12 MP Primary Camera, with a 12 MP ultra-wide camera accompanying it to get the bokeh effect, and other multi-camera assisted effects on the iPhone.
The iPhone 11 Pro comes with three different camera unit where the Primary Camera and the Ultra Wide Camera are the same, we have a third camera as 12 MP Telephoto camera, which will provide the phone a third point of view to assist in multi-camera effects.
The front camera on the two devices is the same with 12 MP Camera along with Face ID. There is even a TOF sensor on the phone to assist the device for secure Face ID. In real-world, both the devices are quite good and they capture quite identical photos.
There is close to no difference when we talk about Bokeh effects and other multi-camera effects by the device. Although we do get the third perspective by the telephoto lens available on the iPhone 11 Pro. Hence if you are looking to take pictures mostly by phone, and need a device with different perspectives to take pictures with a different angle, then iPhone 11 Pro is the best device.
Battery
The iPhone 11 comes with 3110 mAh Battery while the iPhone 11 Pro comes with 3190 mAH battery, which is not a huge difference and makes both the devices to have identical battery unit. The iPhone 11 happens to have better battery life all due to the lower pixel count on screen, which results in lower power consumption of the phone.
The iPhone 11 Pro although employs an AMOLED display, it will tend to have lower battery life when compared to the iPhone 11. This is all due to the fact that the iPhone 11 Pro has double the pixels and the processor will use more power to light up the pixels. Both the phone will have identical screen on time, and calling time without must of the issue. But the iPhone 11 will have a higher stand by time.
Verdict
If you are out in the market to choose between the two, it will be quite difficult for you, and for sure you will be confused between the two. iPhone 11 is a great device for casual users who are not so much concerned about the display of the phone and need pure performance. The iPhone 11 will clearly last long and hence you must choose it over iPhone 11 Pro in case you need to be far from the power source for long.
Whereas iPhone 11 Pro will be for people who love to have sharper images, and pictures while you are watching movies, and browsing through social media. iPhone 11 Pro has a much better build quality hence you must look on to the iPhone 11 Pro in case you need to have a sturdy phone while will retain its beauty for longer time period.
